Lucid isn’t the first EV company to launch a referral plan. This marketing tactic has been employed by Tesla, which earlier this year added the Model 3 and Y to its program. Tesla referrers get awarded with credits that can be redeemed for in-app benefits. However, Lucid took a different approach to what its digital points are used for.
Existing Lucid customers will be awarded 6,000 points if someone buys a Lucid Air Pure using their referral code, 8,000 points for an Air Touring model, and 10,000 points for an Air Grand Touring model. These points can be redeemed for clothing items and accessories but also vehicle add-ons such as a $500 Lucid Air Crossbars that can be redeemed for 4,300 points. The highest-tier accessory on this list, and likely the most appealing to Lucid customers, is a Lucid Connected Home Charging Station, which can be redeemed for 9,900 points.
If accessories aren’t your thing, and you amass a ton of points, there are three big experiences to choose from. Customers can snag a Lucid Air design sketch signed by CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson for 20,000 points. The final two experiences are both priced at a sizable 50,000 points. One is a tour of the Casa Grande factory, and the other is a tour of the Lucid headquarters. Both of these experiences include flights for two and a complimentary two-night stay at a hotel.
